Two incorruptible (and indomitable!) guest artists

To celebrate our 10th anniversary in style, we have not one but TWO guests of honour who are everything audiences have come to expect from the FVA and Les Filles Électriques: generous, astonishing, beyond genres.

Michel Faubert is a central figure on the roots and traditional music scene, a storyteller and singer with a reputation for originality. Whether talking about his albums of stories and songs or his work with Les Charbonniers de L’Enfer, the critics are unanimous in describing his artistry as unique. Michel Faubert moves easily between the past and the now, dusting off our shared history, putting the rock into folk. And no matter what he does, that unmistakable voice reaches deep inside. A long-time friend of the FVA, his ideas for the 10th anniversary show are brand new. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

You know Melissa Auf der Maur as the superb bassist who started out with the legendary bands Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins. But she is also a cross-disciplinary artist now more than ever on top of a demanding indie career. Her vision ranges across rock, film and comics where she explores favourite themes of myth, ritual, blood, Vikings and witches. A singular, mysterious world, to be discovered in the special feel of La Tulipe. The FVA is proud to honour this Montreal rocker with the huge international name. What we like best is her sass, her freedom, her inner warrior and her spirit.
