It was in 2006 that Samian, the politically engaged Métis who raps in Algonquin, met Anodajay, the rapper from the Abitibi forest and proud representative of a culture and a territory. In cuttingly precise lines, Samian talks about identity, his message that of a Nation having trouble making itself heard. Together, they are luminous proof that hip-hop transcends the urban scene.

For the FVA, Marie-Claude De Souza assumes the guise of a travelling salesgirl ready to barter her own words for yours. Be voluble, be discreet, come to watch or to share… The artist will go away with a head full of your words, then spill them onto paper and deliver an original piece of work inspired by her FVA encounters.

“When I was thirteen, I stared into the night sky long enough to grasp the notion of infinity. Even since, I’ve been orbiting around the themes of time travel and duality. Contemplating, exploring the dual realities of earth and outer space, masculine and feminine, inner and outer worlds, heart and mind… My concert at La Tulipe, in honor of the Festival Voix d’Amériques 10th anniversary, is an extension of this exploration. An intimate show, created exclusively for this event, it will be stripped down to bass, synthesizers, minimal guitar and visuals. Created in 2006 by Patrick Hamilton, Jean-Philippe Leclerc and Francis Rossignol, -O- grew out of an organic techno minimal noise project. Their shows have a techno / krautrock / noise feel in constant tension between analogue and digital.
